March 2016 SLVI Update

Hello Praying Friend,
Greetings from Freetown, Sierra Leone (West Africa). This is a trust worthy saying “If you give a man a fish to eat, he eats once, but if you teach a man to fish, you have prepared him/her for the future”This is exactly the overall dream and goal of Center For Training the Vulnerable Skills Training Center. Many lives of young girls are currently transformed SPIRITUALLY, SOCIALLY and MORALLY. The everyday challenge to get this dream to reality is enormous on my wife and I.
This March update presents some impressive testimonies from transformed lives:
ISATU: Isatu hails from a traditional Muslim background. She is married to an ardent Muslim, and has one child. Life was very unbearable for her many years before her training in the center. She was badly disappointed one day by her grandfather, who happened to be a trained tailor for many years. Her grandfather promised to sew a beautiful dress for her,  for a pending occasion, but disappointed  her at the end. With this frustration and pain in her, she was determined that one day she would also be a seamstress. She enrolled into the school two ago years and focused on tailoring. She did so well and now awaiting graduation. Her Muslim husband became so much impressed with her performance and he decided to buy her a sewing machine. She is now using the machine to generate some income for her family. She is also a great assert of blessing to many in the community. Her life has also been touched by the christian teachings in the school and practical love she experienced during her training. Her family is also experiencing this spiritual blessing.
SIA DABUDAH:Sia hails from the Southern region.  Her aunt brought her to the city some years back, in a bid to gain sustainability and survival. But along the way her Aunt drove her out of the house. Life became very unbearable for her, leading her to have two children off the way. In this negative plight a friend of hers invited her to the Skills training school. She enrolled into the Hairdressing department. She went through many challenges. She received some assistance from the school during her two years practical studies. Her hard work has seen her through. She is presently doing the hair of many girls in her community, and by so doing she receives income to to take care of her kids. She is becoming self-sustainable.
 PRAYER HIGHLIGHTS!
 1. Present enrollment in the school continues to increase. Please, pray for funding to build a permanent school. Present facility is getting smaller for the number of students. Also, annual rent for school building expires in April. This is a great concern to my wife and I. The Lord has provided the land for construction for a four classroom structure. Pray for urgent funding.
2. That the Lord would open up doors for scholarship provision for the vulnerable girls in training. The training is valuable, but has many practical and other demands. Most of the girls find it very difficult to raise the needed funds to see them through.
3. Pray that the Holy Spirit would continue to usher in spiritual transformation in the lives of the girls in training. Many are coming from Muslim background. Students in training are about fifty.
4. Pray that the Lord would provide the domestic needs of the girls. Some are single parents, some orphans and some living with no hope.
5. Pray for a continued spirit of resilience and dedication in the hearts of the ten teaching staff, including my wife the Proprietress, Mrs Viola Adama Fornah. She carries so much on her plate.  As I endeavor to DISCIPLE her, she also counsels and disciple her staff and students.
Your PRAYERS and support and love means so much to us. We very much value your PARTNERSHIP. Please, join us in giving HOPE, VALUE and WORTH to these many African sisters in the Lord. Praying fervently for you and yours! You are SPECIAL to us!  Keep in touch.
Please, find attached below pictures of Isatu. Please, keep in touch and let us know what is happening on your side.  I would be so grateful to know whether the pictures came out fine. You may have some further questions or advise for us.
 Till He comes!
Yours for the Sierra Leone-an Harvest,
Rev Warren and Adama Viola Fornah.
 Isatu
